Let’s call today Old Church Day. We visited more churches than I could count. While I obviously enjoy contemporary architecture more than the older examples, I can still appreciate what was once popular.

We saw the Nicholaikirche

 The Franciscan Cloister Church

The Marienkirche

 St. Hedwig’s Cathedral

And then a few of us continued on after our required stops were finished to see a recent Jean Nouvel building, the Lafayette Galeries. While not very interesting from the outside, the interior sectional quality is beautiful. It has a giant funnel that carves out the center of the building and creates an amazing center space.
